Established in 1972, Lynas Foodservice Limited has been “serving the caterer” for over 30 years now. Lynas Foodservice currently employs a staff of about 150 people with 35 Lorries delivering frozen and chilled produce all over Northern Ireland on a daily basis.

One of the most significant changes to the structure of the company involved the collaboration of the firm with a UK-based buying group called Caterforce in 1998. This group comprises of seven family-owned, foodservice companies in the UK.

Two major benefits arise from this collaboration. Firstly, the increased buying power of a larger group enables better prices for customers and secondly, there is a prices for customers and secondly, there is a psychological benefit from realising that a family run frozen foodservice business could compete against the multi-nationals.
With one son, Andrew Lynas , being in the business it is hoped that the company will remain and grow well into the future. 2005 brought further change with a new Meat plant being developed to aid further in “Serving the Caterer”.
